Já þetta er bíllinn sem að ég átti. 

Þessi mynd er vafalaust tekin mjög stuttu áður en að ég fékk hann, þar sem að ég náði í hann á þennan stað.

Bíllinn var upphaflega "silver smoke gray" með "K" í "color code".

Þegar hann kom hingað til lands 1975 að mig minnir þá var hann "flösku-grænn" eins og kallað var, en það var mjög svipaður litur og var á 1967 Shelby-inum sem núna er farinn til Japan.
Bíllinn var þannig í einhver ár, en sá sem að ég keypti bílinn af skilst mér að eigi þann vafa sama heiður að hafa málað bílinn gulann og sett þennan ógeðslega vínil-topp á hann.

En það er gaman af þessari mynd og hún er sú besta af tjóninu á bílnum sem að ég hef séð.

Myndin hér að ofan er tekin haustið 1980 en þessar hér að neðan eru teknar um páskana 1981.

veit einhver hvað bílnr er á þessum bíl? ég er svona 98% viss um að þetta sé gamli bíllinn hans pabba, hann létt setja vynil toppinn á, það var víst einhvað í tísku í gamla daga sagði hann:)

Hér er ferillinn af honum. Bíllinn fór til Noregs í Desember 2008.

Greetings from Norway.

State of the car 1 year ago. It has now been completely stripped of parts, undercoating has been removed and most of the paint. I will sometime this year or next year have the entire car dipped in acid at www.bs-teknikk.no to remove every bit of rust and paint, before replacing most of the sheetmetal in the rear section. More info to come when I start working on it

Þetta kallast stálgrunnur, enda var ég búinn að vinna skelina nánast alla inn í járn þegar ég seldi bílinn, og það var ekkert spartsl eftir í honum.
Við sprautuðum grunni yfir bílinn þegar þeir komu frá Noregi til að sækja hann.

Finally started working on the fastback. First thing to do was to set it up in a homemade jig so it won't move while working on it, and to get the car level. I originally planned to have it chemically stripped, but the company offering this service went out of business, so I'll use a grinder/sander, and do some careful sandblasting where I won't reach with the grinder.

Started with cutting out the LH rear framerail, and the LH rocker panel. I have all new sheetmetal from Dynacorn to replace the old. When I tried to install the complete rocker from Dynacorn, I learned it was so badly shaped that it would take a lot of massaging to get it to fit, so new outer rockers from American Design has been ordered. I personally prefer sheetmetal from Dynacorn, and try to stay away from American Design because of their "universal fit", but they supposedly have better shaped rockers than Dynacorn, so I will let them in for now.

This is where I'm at today, I'm picking up the new rockers on Thursday, and hopefully I can put them in soon.

Picked up those new rockers a while ago, but they were not much better, still too wide and the upper profile didn't match at all. The rockers were not an American Design, but another Taiwan product. However, the stamping was much better than the Dynacorns, corners were sharp and crisp, too bad they don't fit.

So the solution was to use the original upper profile (what was left of it) and blend it into the lower and inner Dynacorn rocker panel. It was a huge job, but it fits much better now I think. Still not completely done with the welding, but I'm not in a hurry

Also had to level up the car again, this time with a digital level gauge. Now it is 100% level

New rear framerails. Original plan was to replace only the left one because of damage, but decided at a later time to also replace the right side. Both are Dynacorn and seems to be of very good quality.

You're both right, it actually don't need all that sheetmetal replaced, but there are bits and pieces here and there that needs to be repaired, and instead of patching up the car and at the same time trying to clean up years of dirt and rust inside every nook and cranny, I'd rather replace the entire part. It's also good to have a solid strong base to weld on. I order all the new parts directly from USA myself, so cost is kept low.

I'll continue the restoration next year, in the meantime;
