Ford Shelby Cobra GT500
The GT500, which is essentially the next-generation SVT Cobra in everything but name, promises upward of 450 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 5.4-liter V8 (a detuned version of the same engine riding midship in the Ford GT supercar). Yes, the rear suspension is a live-axle setup, but Ford engineers say we should drive it before we start complaining. GT500 is expected to go on sale by summer of 2006.

The cast-iron-block, four-valve engine is force-fed an air-and-fuel mixture via a screw-type supercharger at 8.5 pounds per square inch of boost. Aluminum cylinder heads, piston rings and bearings sourced from the Ford GT program bring a high level of proven durability to the drivetrain, while upgraded cooling components promise longevity. “Powered by SVT” camshaft covers are the finishing touch to the engine.

já þetta er eitthvað dull, lítur út fyrir að vera frekar óbreyttur mustang og ekki er mikil afl aukning

eru 150hö ekki mikil aflaukning? um leið og það kemru mustang með mótor í lagi þá fara allir í vörn og koma með slæm comment án þess að vita nánast neitt um bílinn annað en það hvernig hann lítur út og að hann sé 450hö
