I've got dual electric fans on my sbf powered landcrusier.
all my electronics are switch controled from a moroso switch panel. that has a indicator light for each switch
when buzzing down the freeway with the fans off. the fans generate enough power to light up the indicator light..lol
but they are isolated from my ignition circut. so yeah i could see it happen if it could back feed somehow.

Your fan can and will burn up MSD's and other ignition boxes if you dont isolate them with relays!!!!! I went through two MSD's before I figured this out. (dummy me) Anyways they do act as generaters when the power to them is shut down and they keep spinning. I burnt my boxes doing plug checks shutting down the engine at 6000rpm's. Just buy relays rated at the amperage of the fans and you wont have anymore troubles.
