Chrysler unveiled today (sort of) the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart, company’s new compact sedan designed for the United
States market. Set to make its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, next January, the new car is built on a
world-class architecture and will offer three technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and powerful engines,
including the 1.4L MultiAir Turbo.
Moreover, the new Dodge Dart marks company’s return in the re-entry into the compact sedan segment and promises to
offer responsive steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and available 18-inch wheels. Furthermore, the first visual
impact with the car tells us that this is a Dodge due to the tailored split-crosshair grille, projector headlamps and fog lamps
and accentuated fenders.
The rear end of the Dart will offer full-width LED ‘racetrack’ tail lamps and class-exclusive integrated dual exhaust,
inspired by the Dodge Charger. Regarding the engines, drivers will now be able to select from a new Tigershark 16-valve
2.0-liter engine, a 16-valve 1.4-liter MultiAir Intercooled Turbo engine, and a new Tigershark 16-valve 2.4-liter MultiAir four
cylinder engine. These engines can be mated with three transmission choices. As expected, the new Dodge Dart will be
manufactured in America at Chrysler Group’s Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Ill.
