1970 Chevrolet Camaro Dick Harrell á Ebay
« on: February 17, 2008, 19:05:21 »
Virkilega fallegur 1970 Camaro Dick Harrell with only 6002 documented miles,

Þetta er nú bara copy/paste en læt það flakka

Dick Harrell was a famous Chevrolet Drag Racer in the 1960’s. He was a pioneer in high performance racing engine development and through his successful racing career, he earned the nickname “Mr. Chevrolet”. He also pioneered the development process for installing high performance L-72 427 cubic inch engines into Camaro’s, a few Chevelle’s and a handful of Nova’s in the late 1960’s. It is believed that Dick Harrell was the first to install a 427 into a Camaro for a dealer, Nickey Chevrolet, to be sold to the public as a dealer installed, new car. He was also under contract for another well known dealer, Yenko Chevrolet, in Canonsburg, PA where he engineered a number of 350 and 427 conversions long before the first COPO cars came off the Chevrolet production lines in 1969.

In addition to the cars Dick Harrell helped develop for these notable dealers, he also “converted” a small number of Camaro’s, Chevelle’s and Nova’s himself through his speed shop down the street from Fred Gibb Chevrolet in Kansas City, MO. Through his association with Gibb Chevrolet, Dick Harrell did extensive research, engineering and development on what was to become the ZL-1 all aluminum 427, later placed into the ZL-1 Camaro. At the same time, he continued his successful racing career, being named AHRA Driver of the Decade in 1970. Unfortunately, Dick Harrell was killed a year later in a funny car accident.

During 1970, Dick Harrell personally converted just three Camaro’s at his Kansas City Performance Center. Two of those cars were immediately set up for drag racing and the remaining one, the car I am selling today, was sold to a private party, drag raced on occasion over the next couple of seasons and then parked and stored in a garage until it was rediscovered in 2002.  Since that time, the car has been kept in its original “as found” condition, save for a thorough cleaning and tune up. Everything you see from the special Dick Harrell paint/graphics on the hood and quarterpanels, the Kelsey-Hayes wheels, the interior and engine compartment is as it left Dick Harrell’s speed shop. This is truly a one of one example.

Ekki væri nú slæmt að fá þennan á sýningu hjá klúbbnum
